Dear Parent/Caregiver,
You are being invited to participate in a research study!
My name is Melissa D. Jarvis, and I am a doctoral candidate at Southern Nazarene University. I am seeking your participation in my study regarding caregiver involvement in education. The purpose of this study is to explore perceptions of parents/caregivers regarding their involvement in the education of their student(s) who attend East Intermediate School.
If you would like to participate in this study, you will complete a short, 2-3 minute survey to provide more information about yourself and contact information. In this survey, you will indicate if you are willing to continue to participate in a more in-depth, confidential conversation about your caregiver involvement opportunities and experiences at this intermediate school. In this conversation, you would be asked to share your experiences and insights regarding your involvement in your intermediate school child’s education. The 45-60 minute conversation would take place at a public location of your choosing and at a date/time that is convenient for you. I plan to audio-record the conversation so I can transcribe the conversation and provide you with the transcript to edit, clarify, omit, or add any content.
Your input is greatly appreciated and valued because the results of this study may inform university programs, superintendents, administrators, and teachers about potential barriers and challenges related to successful levels of caregiver involvement in education.
